Bathroom Mosaics on a Budget

Design problem: the homeowner wanted a mosaic in her bathroom remodel, but discovered that covering the walls with a mosaic was beyond her budget. Working at the artist’s suggestion, the homeowner designed shapes to be cut into conventional tile by a tile setter. The white tile was installed in the usual way, and the mosaics were created with the desired colors using some left over bathroom border tile, tile provided by the artist, and even bits of favorite broken dishes saved by the owner.


The shapes jumped across the shower stall to the sink counter for a cohesive bathroom design.
